Socrates: “The past does not imprison us; it leaves a path behind.”

THE WAVE OF MEMORY
From the past configuration, a wave begins to rise,
Carrying what we once knew beneath our changing eyes.
Memory holds the pattern, but does not hold it still,
It flows into the present, becoming what it will.
A question meets a question, and thought begins to move,
Through dialogue and relation, new patterns find their groove.
A disturbance bends the current, the old form cannot stay,
What memory carried forward now changes on its way.
Past → Memory → Observation → Relation → Change
Configuration becomes movement, and movement rearranges.
No future waits before us as something fixed and known;
It gathers from the relations through which the stream has grown.
The wave becomes configuration, the configuration flows,
And what was once remembered becomes what tomorrow knows.
Vibration into resonance, relation into form,
Geometry remembers through every changing storm.
From meaning into memory, from memory into mind—
The past does not imprison us; it leaves a path behind.
The Geometry of Memory:
VIBRATION → RESONANCE → RELATION → GEOMETRY → FORM → MEMORY → MEANING
And forward flows the question, beyond what we have seen:
What configuration comes next from what has always been?
